
A shooting that took place on the afternoon of this Sunday in the Morelos neighborhood, in the Tepito area, left three people dead and five arrested in Mexico City.
It was a targeted attack at the intersection of González Ortega and Díaz de León streets, where a man approximately 27 years old was found lying between the stalls in the area. In the exchange of gunfire, a third person lost their life while attempting to apprehend those responsible.
Agents from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) chased and arrested five alleged participants, identified as Exon 'N', Diego 'N', Yorsmar 'N', and Rogelio 'N', who were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office. One of the detainees was intercepted after entering a residential unit, carrying a short firearm.
So far, the motives of the attack and the possible relationship of the assailants with any criminal group are unknown. SSC reported that one of the victims of the direct attack died later in the hospital while receiving medical attention.
The shooting, which occurred after 3:00 PM, involved armed individuals who opened fire on two people on González Ortega street, which triggered the pursuit that culminated in the arrests of the alleged perpetrators.
